Empathic Resonance & Attunement Workshop

The ERA workshop is now evolved to a two Levels process.

Level 1 – listen, go inside, get felt sense

The facilitator will play the client with one or two statements, inviting all participants to consider the four step process – listen, go inside, get felt sense and respond. Level 1 will however be focusing on the process of listening (audio and visual), going inside the body and getting the felt sense. It will break down each of the three steps in a clear sequence, helping students to slow down and become deeply aware of their own internal process as they take in what the client is saying, how they say it, how they present themselves, and how that affects the therapist’s inner world. Level 1 will not worry about the response to the client, this being a focus for Level 2.

Ideally, we would need 4 to 6 participants to go ahead with the workshop, which will take 2 hours. The cost is £32 per participant, payable two days before the time of the workshop, and is not refundable if they can’t make it. Before this time, participants can opt out, leaving space for others.

Level 2 – communicate

Level 2 of the ERA Workshop draws on Level 1 and assumes prior participation in that level or any of the ERA workshops in October, which had a similar focus. Participants must be already familiar with the first three steps (listen, go inside, get felt sense). The focus of Level 2 is going to be on communication. Once the felt sense is articulated and checked internally, we will focus on how to effectively communicate a response to the client in a way that is connecting, fitting and therapeutically effective. We will practice our communication skills: clear formulation, choosing the right words, the right tone, the right pace and depth of voice, aiming for a wider dynamic range of responses that fits with the felt sense.

Ideally, we would need 4 to 6 participants to go ahead with the workshop, which will take 2 hours. The cost is £32 per participant, payable two days before the time of the workshop, and is not refundable if they can’t make it. Before this time, participants can opt out, leaving space for others.
